Also: seeing people deal with soul and life-changing overwhelming situations that seem hopeless against horrors but figuring out how to keep going anyways is a very relateable story.

Okay, started on
#TheTwoTowers. It's so odd seeing moments that have been memorialized in gifs and memes. Looking at the original source now it's hard to differentiate the both of them now. Ex: just saw this part in the movie and all I can think of ishttps://youtu.be/uE-1RPDqJAY3 réponses 0 Retweet 2 j'aimeAfficher cette discussion -
Eowyn the moment she sees Aragorn speaking Elvish and comforting a horse:
Don't blame you gurl!

Omg I almost forgot about this old meme song until the scene came on. Gen Z - this and "they're taking the hobbits to Eisengard" was what our generation (elder millennial) had for memes back then

I think the
#LordOfTheRings movies are a stellar masterpiece of cinema, but we can still be critical of things we
: it's disappointing that like 90% of the cast is white men (even if they're hot white men), with women getting few roles. And the only poc are on the "evil side."pic.twitter.com/UvQOV70dYF2 réponses 2 Retweets 13 j'aimeAfficher cette discussion -
Continuing
#TheTwoTowers at the battle at helm's deep. All the "able bodied fighters " were sent out but Eowyn + the other adult women were locked away. There's a young boy maybe 12-13 who is afraid. Reminds me of how boy's and men's lives are valued less and discarded in war.

Starting
#ReturnOfTheKing Seeing Frodo who started a cinnamon roll starting to be corrupted by the ring. It sounds obvious since its the Ring of Power but how the ring corrupts all reminds me how IRL power corrupts as well + is harder to give up the more someone wields it.1 réponse 0 Retweet 2 j'aimeAfficher cette discussion -
Something I don't get about the elves (and I forget if the books go over this) but why do the elves have to leave and sail West?

Essentially the elves are like: sorry everyone weaker than us we are fucking off and leaving you to fend for yourselves???

My understanding is that they want to leave because Middle Earth is hard on them as immortals and going back to Valinor gives them respite for a while at least.
