I think the thing that scares me the most in season 3 isn't the creatures but Hopper: he flies off the handle and is physical and violent and yells in a way that is commonly seen in violent abusive men irl.
I get that these people are masters of capturing the vibe and tone of the media of the time, but this season is all a little much. The broad shenanigans and sexism played for laughs gets in the way of the heart this show has at its core.
