This is such typical shitty games industry behavior. At big companies most secrecy is more about feeling important than any real financial harm. As a worker I think it's totally lopsided, but I also know that I would never disclose the information I have. I don't even tell my brother what i'm working on. I don't retweet or follow certain accounts because I don't want to mistakenly give people information.

I’m not saying otherwise: but I fail to see how emphasizing that point in this context is anything but justifying Epic’s behavior :)

Their behavior is justifiable legally and that the potential consequences were made clear to the contractor. If I owned those trade secrets I would take legal action against anyone that disclosed them.
