  5. Well this is concerning. Asking questions about security is a critical component of preparing for an assignment. Security should be an "issue" for the assigning editor & outlet as well as the journalist. I thought the industry was moving beyond this... cc

    Several local news outlets offices shut down. Latest casualty. Capital Gazette staff settled just last year into the newsroom that is now closing, which replaced their previous office — site of a 2018 mass shooting that left 5 colleagues dead.

    We write dissertations that delve deep into a subject matter then often turn them into books, which get published by an academic publisher (mine by ) but then get sold for ridiculous prices so then we can only afford to read it in a library! 🙄
