Actually, when it comes to Zoom calls, I can understand. 😢 (This is a kid who LOVED school, and we have a better situation than many do currently.) It’s heartbreaking.pic.twitter.com/hcc1Cm5SnY

To add context, our school has structured it this way so that kids at home with parents who are working are largely engaged with their teachers and classmates. But it’s pretty brutal for my kiddo, who’d rather have a bit of Zoom time and then lots more independent work time.

The poor teachers have actual district-mandated minimums for “live instruction” that keeps these poor kids tethered to Zoom for huge chunks of their days. The teachers don’t like it either...💔

Aaaaaaaaaaah. Zoom all day is terrible. Please share the feels that this is definitely not something that I would love either.

Yeah it’s 4 different calls between 8:30 and 11:50am, with a couple short breaks in between. Kids are not meant for this... 🙁

Def heartbreaking, but kudos to kiddo for processing their emotions so reflectively like this 💔💚

I'm not a parent but I wonder if it would be worth sharing how you feel about Zoom laden days. Then you and your child could bond over this shared experience.

Yeah she really thought I was okay with lots of Zoom calls and so we talked about that tonight. I am most definitely not...
