There are a treasure trove of author interviews, twitter feeds, podcasts...

If you want to have a “interview someone for a grade” thing, it needs to be someone in their community who is not a public figure.

P.S. I absolutely do not mind if you have someone *write* to someone for a grade. It’s just when the grade hinges on *that person answering* that it’s a problem.

Ugh one year a class on my campus with a couple hundred students enrolled assigned something that was basically “interview a woman or minority faculty member about their experiences being underrepresented in their dept” and like...really?? Because THIS is an “experience.”pic.twitter.com/HoBO1GqqUL

UGH? How do they not see that this is effectively an attempt to give their underrepresented colleagues homework?

I'm so sorry people do that. I like your suggestions. :) Besides, while I get that "famous" people are still people. I get so tongue-tied when I'm around you! :)

I had a professor who wanted us to review local concerts at the bars around our college as an assignment. When I pointed out I was only 18 they asked if I had a fake ID. Those of us underage ended up getting an alternate assignment.
