had a moment of smug pride walking back from lunch when I could hear a road biker with glistening kit come down the way for a _long_ while. I may look shabby and I may be slow but my bike is super quiet.

Got my first real ride(s) of the spring in yesterday - Out to to work on bikes, back downtown, then out to North Douglas and back.

now with serverless computing (e.g. Amazon Lambda) I'm finally getting a feel for what makes cloud computing so compelling. Deployable services, tracked and backed by GitHub, testable the whole way.

Been looking into be best caching practices using amazon cloudfront as an HTTPS capable S3 backed CDN. The best part is how easily this fits into the build toolchain via gulp.

got my first "Hello World" AWS lambda function working today. Steep learning curve and lots of hoops to jump through (profiles! deployment! stages! CORS!) —  made for an interesting evening.

*just* discovered Amazon Lambda functions. Like a nice shiny coin on the ground, this promises to solve all my problems. I love the idea of just packaging up Node.js modules onto a web server w/o having to worry about all the other server management stuff.
