If the deplorable/ evangelical half of America wasn’t happy with a black Prez or a woman prez, they aren’t ever going to be ready for an openly gay prez. We had an openly gay woman—lovely person—elected once in Ontario, Canada. And then Postmedia (our Fox) ripped her to shreds.
