The technology we need to live sustainably already exists to a large extent. Perhaps the only one we're really lagging on is our ability to recycle. So the problem to tackle is the meta one: what are the barriers to large scale implementation of things that are good?

This is a cool notion, but some would say our issue is neither one of technology nor logistics/implementation, but rather of the heart. Somewhat related, highly recommend Doug Rushkoff’s keynote at the beginning of this episode:https://castro.fm/episode/jbmDvs

Will try to listen to this later, but in essence I think tech can be a good prosthetic to maintain heart

The biggest problem is polite behavior. Experts and journalists won't even use competing products. Activism is neutered down to suffering in thought and grinding. No one will do the thing unless experts do it and they won't because solving problems doesn't have emotional gravity.

The cure is for us to first do what we love, without depending on or expecting extrinsic rewards (from others). Secondly, we can support, in any way we can, others who are courageous enough to freely create and explore, so that those who do seek extrinsic rewards will do it to.
