I'm knowingly sending my kid to a highly constrained broken abuse/neglect centre on a daily basis. Most pedagogy and curriculum is so outdated and the whole person is silenced. Looking at moving the kids to a different school.
So totally disturbing. Given how long kids are subjected to the education institution, and given they're also not fully developed during this time period to form their own opinions and values, it totally is abuse and needs to be called out as such.

Oh god this. Even schedules are creators of stress - kids here by this time. I escaped the work day, now I have this other system of control to contend with. We’re trying to build our own, but critical mass is hard.

Disturbing to me, as well. Mine needs time to get deeply into something, and then she can focus for hours. 2 yrs ago, when she started kindergarten, I realized they change activities every 30 mn (mostly to control behavior). So she's bored. Tomorrow, starting at a Waldorf school.
