I feel like education could be so simple I mean, fundamentally, a good recipe might be: 1 part theory / background knowledge 1 part teaching what tools are out there / techniques to actually apply knowledge to make things Then just ample free time for peeps to experiment
Ofc deciding what content will give kids enough of an understanding of things is something to be contended, but I feel uni & school don't yet meet that criteria of making 'how to apply things' known, let alone space or encouragement to pursue those kinds of creative projects
I think the experimenting bit is so important; how else can you know what you're into? Giving the right tools to explore and figuring out when to start exploiting: that's the core of what I think schools should do.
