I finished reading this tweet thread out for the kid. I skipped the part about the dancing. I may be hard on her, but I'm not an asshole.

Trolley collection truck drives past... It's what I worry about with the idea of creating new jobs. We've outsourced personal responsibility for returning our shopping trolleys to the point we have employees driving through the suburbs in a specialized vehicle.

Walking back from dropping the kid at school, I pass one of the other parents who lives around the corner from me. I knew him from when he was an illegal immigrant. We will likely never talk about that. All sides of that debate have validity. There is no one side.

I think we've stopped discussing what to do about things because it's easier to force a view of reality in which a single prescriptive action makes sense. In outsourcing complexity, we are unable to handle things that are complex at scale.

This is kinda my theme song for this year... It's true for so many aspects of my life at the moment. It is through trying to connect, and communicate with this feeling, I hope to find the way out the other side.https://soundcloud.com/tyler-biggs-6/impossible-year …

This year is impossible. I made it this way. I have to figure out how and why, and pave the way to a better year next year. I want things to be better now... but that's not how things work.

I think about "bootstrapping" and it both amuses and slightly perplexes me. With so many tools laying around specifically designed for leveraging... why would anyone use their bootstraps?

I really wanna tweet the thing I'm working on, but can't because it's too awesome. I'm loving that I get to nerd out with my wife... The project we're working on together is fully geeking out, and it's the best ever.
