This from @Meaningness reminded me of something I’ve been mulling over about post-rationality.
Relatively early on, I engaged with a thinker whom i now realize is connected to the meta/post-rational & integral projects.https://twitter.com/Meaningness/status/1153337963226357760?s=20 …

This is a quick placeholder post; I’m sprinkling a couple of breadcrumbs in case anyone wants to follow. The thinker I mentioned is John Ralston Saul. http://www.johnralstonsaul.com/non-fiction-books/on-equilibrium/ …

Nothing earth-shattering or groundbreaking there. But it’s a useful exploration. The preceding trilogy is an interesting historical note, too, from a time before Sept 2001, and before software started to eat the world.

I read JRS relatively young (19) and he was formative in my sensibility. I hear echoes of him, sometimes, in people like
@rushkoff@NoraBateson , and others. Something about@Meaningness ‘ phrasing (putting in western philosophical terms) reminded me of JRS, about whom I1 reply 0 retweets 2 likesShow this thread -
...was already thinking. End of thread - except - let me plug JRS’s book The Doubter’s Companion. A pithy and enjoyable read. And a wonderfully generative format (a la Ambrose Bierce’s Devils Dictionary)https://books.google.ca/books/about/The_Doubter_s_Companion.html?id=SW3IpVUY-sMC&printsec=frontcover&source=kp_read_button&redir_esc=y …

Replying to @cosimia_
Oh my gosh I haven’t read this book in like sixteen years. What a great find. The emphasis on “calm” as the preferred “professional” state (no matter what external conditions are) reminds me a bit of
