Anxiety is more exciting and easier to overcome. A little research can get you out of it. It's more temporary. Depression is boring, and usually requires a big change of attitude to get out of it. It often takes a new philosophy on life, which requires much more research.

Have to disagree. Philosophy got me out of depression, nothing has cured my anxiety. It's seemingly totally physical. Anyhow my assumption here was anxiety the disorder as opposed to anxiety itself, which is felt by everyone and has helpful outcomes

Depression > Anxiety. Depressive episodes are growth enablers. At least once you're out, you've worked on some of you're issues or made changes to your lifestyle. Anxiety is just debilitating and doesn't help in the long term. I hate anxiety.

I agree that anxiety is worse, though depression is more dangerous. But the accompanying apathy dulls the 'painfulness' of it. Anxiety is full force terror. Much more physically straining

From both of what I've experienced, anxiety. I've found my depressive episodes to be long, damaging and potentially dangerous
