You have the option of finding/co-creating some wild and crazy non-profit, or start-up, and just play, with everything, instead of being in some school that doesn't meet your needs. That's a waste of your life, I think. Or do independent research/projects for a while.

Perhaps. There might be other options, though. If you put your goals out there, for the world to see, you never know what might appear. Tell the world who you want to help, and what sort of things you wan to use to help them, and what you need to make it happen.
