If I'm supposed to be doing something I don't want to be doing: If I have energy -> procrastination by pondering & intrigue If I don't -> procrastination by consumption of dopamine-inducing entertainment First is tricky because it likes to justify itself by feeling productive

My hypothesis is that if you take meticulous notes re: pondering and intrigue, eventually it takes on a life of its own - and my belief/hope is that if you keep at it, eventually you can do it for a livinghttps://twitter.com/visakanv/status/1076189213744291840?s=21 …

Visakan Veerasamy @visakanvI’ve basically taught myself to manage my ADHD with notes and threads. My “schedule intelligence” (deadlines, calendars, checklist) is terrible but my recognition and web-jumping is fantastic, so I spent something like a decade using the latter to build an elaborate mind-palace pic.twitter.com/A2E4okufzHShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I hope I can one day. Twitter is my way of note taking atm. I can't seem to journal because I find it cringeworthy when I look back on it. Also I seem to check all the boxes for ADD so not sure what to do about that :') do you get a lot of nervous energy? Any tips on taming it

cringe is good, it means you're getting better. aim to cringe as much as possible in life and enjoy it like spicy food nervous energy... meditate, deep breathing. patiently, ask yourself what the nervousness is about, where it's coming from. for me I think it was loss-aversion

with experience (and note-taking), you come to notice that actually nothing is ever really lost. good ideas always come back in some shape or form. so you can just let things go
