Got it. Philosophy is my thing and you could probably say that your supposition does kind of summarize the mainline western philosophical view. But I just got a big lecture that current physics may not support that view. That's why your statement kind of rang a bell for me.

Actually, I think his statement was a bit off. He equates the two concepts when they're really opposites.

The Growing Block Universe Theory of time says the past and present exist while the future does not, which agrees with the western philosophical concept. Eternalism says that past, present, and future all exist – in the individually discrete relativistic sense.
