working with children is allowing me to better understand my own development. children are very creative, but they are also very self-absorbed. seems like empathy & concept of other (leading to investments in the wellbeing of ppl other than yourself) increases with age

I wonder if selflessness and compromise are the price of adulthood and the expense of leaving behind a life of creative expression. All the best artists are fiercely loyal to their vision and typically struggle with romantic relationships.
hm. i certainly hope not. i think we can have both, especially if we create for the sake of others
