if you put experts in positions of power for their relative field, and allow them to account for the mistakes most ppl make in their judgement of 'good-for-us', this probably makes that problem better but power corrupts & ppl are reactionary when people counter their wants

again, if claim 1 is true, and total freedom of choice is not the best way of organising ourselves, value-driven technological assistants will probably help. theyre accurate to the values, and cant be corrupted by power or swated by emotions

also, they're a lot less palatable. gentle nudges & influences by tech make it seem like our decisions are our own, because its not another person telling us what to do. its simply a different presentation of info to nudge us in certain directions. and it can be personalised

if humans generally don't know whats best for us, the solution is education. Decentralize the power of knowledge so that it's not used against the masses.

One the one hand, I definitely agree thats the best first step. On the other, knowing something intellectually or philosophically is very different from being able to put it in practice. Idk how to repress competing desires well enough
