I look forward to a time when games are indeed treated as an art medium for personal expression, as well as an opportunity to test out theories and experiment with new possibilities in a fairly accurate model of reality. (As opposed to a product to make money off of.)

YES. I also believe the same principle can be applied to exercise! I find it far easier to exert a lot of energy playing a game with friends than any individual workout! Even if it’s a game I don’t particularly care for (I’ve always been terrible at basketball)!
