“Lack of self-control” really just refers to a conflict in one’s own ideas. There’s no reason those conflicts can’t be resolved (e.g. I want to buy X, but that seems bad for reason Y.) Maybe both ideas which are in conflict are wrong, and there’s something better to discover.
yep. typically a conflict between path one that has a higher probability of leading to a healthy outcome (usually associated w/ long term thinking & higher cognitive processes), and path two, which has a high prob of leading to short term satisfaction, but long-term sabotage

Perhaps that is typical, or perhaps not. One can’t rule on a court case without seeing the facts of *that case*. Both sides must be taken seriously. Sometime high-level ideas are horribly wrong, too.
