Can we at least have a UBI for people that want to do some good Like idk apply to the Gov, say what you want to work on, and so long as you can prove progress you'll get the $$ to support yourself while you do it Why don't we subsidise doing good things?

I think more rich people could offer grants like that, but that the government would be terrible about giving out money & it would quickly be abused. Banks also offer loans to people to start businesses, which survive by fulfilling other people's preferences.
What is the incentive for rich people to give out their money, other than altruism? There ain't none, unless it's a return on investment thing, which is a big burden for the money-receiver. You don't think the benefits of the Gov program would outweigh the costs?

I don't think they would. Everyone and their mom would apply for it & the system would be abused. As a taxpayer, I don't want my money being taken at gunpoint & given to stranger's pet projects. In general, if it's a good idea, people can make a fair business model out of it

or collect donations from people to implement it. There are private donors who understand that some good deeds are fundamentally neglected by market forces & most people's interests, yet should still be done, so they do fund people carefully
