Is there a thing out there that'll let me input some preferences and it'll spit out an interesting paper in my inbox every day?

I really like the YouTube model, which makes it easier to keep watching stuff by constantly adding to a “watch later” playlist, as well as providing subscriptions and sidebar recommendations for each video in addition to search. It’s a nice collection of tools.

Embarrassed to have Twitter on top—I’m not actively tweeting, I just lurk. I use my phone way more than this screen metric. Apps like Audible and Spotify would dwarf all these numbers.pic.twitter.com/rUJMjbQQ4s

Why embarrassed?

Because I think of myself as a cool kid who doesn’t waste his time on social media. But tbh it was a wrong choice of words. Twitter and YouTube are the best tools (for me) to find out about very interesting ideas. The scope of my interests grows every day due to these two apps.
