You dislike being forced into situations where you're not free to choose who gets to make decisions that deeply affect you. It doesn't need to be a "smart" individual, just one who you believe has the ability to do what you want done.
thats what i meant by smart, perceived & actual competence at the task at hand. & true, but i think its more than that. im happy with people choosing things that affect me, as long as i trust their judgement.
