Scenario: I go to a conference alone and want someone to chat with whilst I'm there. I could signal that intention on my device, and it would show me some people in the immediate vicinity with the same intention.

Social media should play a larger and more intentional part in reducing loneliness in physical as well as digital spaces. I'm imagining something in the future that uses your data to connect you with others in the area that are a) looking for someone to talk to and b) compatible

Maybe we want some way of skipping the awkwardness so the app thing first gives each person some introductory info about the other et voila a pal on demand

Social media thrives especially on loneliness. Also, looking for an external solution to "loneliness" would probably be a short term fix at best, no matter the "compatibility of data". My two cents.

Probable. But also business thrives off loneliness. I think we can make (try) new social medias that thrive off of connection instead!

Had twitter and facebook been founded by women, this probably would have already happened. Women just aren't as interested in inorganic algorithms as men are. The world needs more women who can make the connection between inorganic algorithms and organic algorithms.
