Man so many people have negativity as their base state. Filled with criticism scepticism and nihilism. While this might be the easiest way to live, if you put in the effort to get over that activation energy hump, you'll find a better baseline. And it'll be kind.

(to you and others) I'm not saying it's easy or that those things will leave entirely - they're totally necessary. But the malice and venom behind them aren't. Again, that life is easier (but not the nicest). Sometimes I get mad or sad when people are excessively nihilistic.

I think it might be incumbent on those who can see the reasons for optimism (probably associated with attempting to put things into perspective, larger contexts) to ‘lead by example’ in a way. Continue on despite the noise, chuckle at what is silly, speak with reasoned kindness.
