People would develop a better language/protocol for sharing and networking computers. It would be the beginning of a more evolved internet. But it would take years before anyone knew about it. It took a quarter century (and the web) before the internet became a household name.
I guess internet 2.0 might be quicker to catch on, seeing as everyone already has some experience with the old one (and will be actively looking for an alternative)
That would be a tough sell. 99% of internet development effort aims to fix internet 1.0. It's new structures on old foundation. Meanwhile, Russia is planning their own isolated version of an internet 2.0. This could start a trend of cyber nationalism. https://upi.com/6901723t
