imagine the chaos that would ensue if the internet as we know it (basically google) suddenly ceased to exist everything would go to shit and yet, I guess this scenario is kind of possible so long as it is mediated and controlled by corporate & governmental entities

How do those (tremendously valuable and effective) forms of human cooperation risk the loss of core infrastructure? And they’re risky compared to what?

+ risky not really in comparison to anything. i guess maybe to a theoretical p2p thing that doesnt have any central control. but mostly i view risk as pretty much correlating with the usefulness/level of integration of something. something could happen to threaten that stability
