Weird thing about being a curious thinking type is that you always seem to be in this battle with elitism Can never decide whether it stems from some outdated culturally gleaned shame or if we really do be egotistical assholeshttps://twitter.com/TheAnnaGat/status/1125541774737444869 …

oh, no worries ;) i also agree with that & it checks out with my experience fwiw. it’s probs for slightly diff reasons but this is broadly my experience in those situations which I’ve experienced regardless of the economic circumstances of the other person:

Peers w/tons of opportunity but have *chosen* to live a life w/ little control over their time (e.g working 60+hr/week for some bank
) tend to:
- label it as a privilege
- some even go so far as to paint me as irresponsible because curiosity resembles childlike behavior to them - 2 more replies

reality we inherited
many super curious types throughout history + now are embedded in circles full of gatekeepers
people entangle these concepts :( we need to disentangle them..
so we can be seen for what we are: curious, open + free!
