Capitalism is generative towards capital (2nd order: consumption, production) Ensuring that optimisation isn't harmful is largely up to legal interventions which reduce efficiency Could our economy be generative towards people and nature instead? What would that look like?pic.twitter.com/l6Pc2vP7MY
Ooh that is a good and nice word. Though I guess it's not possible considering we have finite resources. There's always going to be some form of competition & need to allocate, just depends on what allocation is sustainable

All information (except money) is anti-rival. All physical goods are rival. But we can afford to share much more physical goods than we choose to share. We deliberately waste far more physical goods than we use.

Info is becoming rivalrous too! Patents n shite

Think about how your body's cells work. They don't compete, except in very extreme circumstances of very serious harm, with toxins and deficiencies (over time, or large doses). Yet there are still finite resources. It's all about shared goals, and freedom.

If we’re able to shake loose the myth of our separateness from nature, maybe we could reconceive our relationship with it to be one where our interactions are mutually beneficial, and in fact the more humans that engage, the more beneficial it becomes. (IF!)
