Rights need to be protectable with enforceable laws. Reasons need to be sound, valid, and relevant. Replace "right" with "power." Replace "reasoning" with "relevant facts."

The laws of physics are really the only laws that give rights. We either feel like we understand someone else's perspective or we don't, based on physics. And our feeling of understanding is somewhat unrelated to whether or not we really can see things from their perspective.
