Some #StupidQuestionsForAtheists aren't actually that stupid. Questions about meaning and community, for example. In fact, as the years go by, these seem more and more important to me.
"Isn't that just a different kind of faith" is still dumb though.

imo, it is a different kind of faith. at least for me. i dont claim to know anything about the origin of the universe or of its direction, but i have a faith (a prediction? or maybe a useful value?) that life is valuable & worth preserving. cant really prove this w/ any science

hm. good point. so we're distinguishing between blind faith and faith then? oh, related qn that pops up for me: is there a practical difference between believing a story bc you think its true vs. believing it for its utility?

Actually I do think there's some room for "I just enjoy this story/superstition/whatever" but I wouldn't call it Belief
