consider a scenario though where (for the sake of simplicity) we have an america and an africa. increase in temp makes growing crops near impossible in africa. the most disadvantaged become more so. they are starving, and so they turn to violence to steal food from usa

now imagine the usa does not have enough for both nations to eat. they can no longer import crops from africa that helped sustain them. their people are beginning to go hungry too. the homeless are hit hardest first. crime goes up there too.

I like what sam harris says about this. If right knowledge is created it could become such that war between countries would look as ridiculous as nebraska declaring war on some dakota. But I do think a kind of complacency is there. The expected exponential growth is not happening
