id like to run the algorithm where im a productive bean and my phone helps rather than hinders that basically im more than one algorithm, there's competing incentives. my logical cortex brain wants to make the world a better place & monkey wants dopamine

Part of the solution seems to be found in changing the metrics used to evaluate success of digital products. Moving from quantitative measurement of use to something else. “We can’t measure what we care about, so we care about what we can measure” ... and optimize, etc

hm. i reckon if we tried hard enough we probably could measure what we care about & then orient our tech to help us align actions with that
