On the one hand, your access to quality education should not be limited by your economic circumstances On the other, kids shouldn't to spend 16 years of their life in school (+uni) studying something they have no particular interest in just to stay afloat.
I think itd be cool if the apprenticeship model was applied more broadly. Like imagine if you could be a coding apprentice. Much more applicable skills taught if you wanted to get right into a career. Studying it at uni is only useful if you want to get into research

Ah right yes! I agree. I guess hypothetically you could do that - the market is very sensitive to actual ability - but having an institution of it would be amazing. I believe they used to teach law by apprenticeship, but no longer...

There are people whom it benefits to center learning around meta metrics, and it’s neither the students nor the people who would benefit from the students’ skills.
