My sister is incapable of this and she's 17 it boggles the mind
What do you think young people should know/learn/study/do in order to best prepare them for the future, and best equip them for creating it? (totally not taking notes)

I hope they learn that their interests are valuable, problems are soluble, and fitting in is overrated.

Agree with the first two, but diverse interests are valuable because of the role they play in solving society's problems. Fitting in is the whole point! How about, *fitting in with groups your parents forced you into* is overrated.

Talk to people, especially strangers. Doesn’t matter what it is about, learning to talk face to face to different kinds of people in different settings is hugely beneficial. You learn new ideas and world views, and you learn how to better communicate your own thoughts an beliefs

And coding. Definitely learn some coding. Even if you never use it, it still gives you a better insight and appreciation for the technological world we live in.
