"Comfortable" can be interpreted in healthy and sick ways. "Minimally healthy" is a better term. Basic physical needs are at the very bottom of human needs, before we start focusing on taking care of others' needs on a planetary scale: Eating comes before creating solutions.
UBI pls If nothing else, it's a buffer against starvation (& resulting suffering + violence) It'll buy us time and keep people comfortable enough to rebuild before probable social collapse
