Everything is the result of a series of causes. If you are the product of all (genes influenced by envir', etc) that happened leading up to the moment, what is agency? Are you responsible for your actions if youre just a chain of cause and effect that extends before you're born?

Basically, your choices have prior causes, so they are predetermined. From your subjective perspective you have free will, but objectively you don't.
