The idea is that the intuition that people could have done differently or that they have pure control over how they behave is false and people who thrive in this world are ultimately just lucky for it and people who don't are ultimately just unlucky.

I don't want to overcomplicate things but our intuition that we authored ourselves is also relevant to this imo. See this thread for my position on that:https://twitter.com/Intrinsic29/status/956319973684658176?s=19 …

Every factor in your decision-making ultimately hinges on intrinsic traits and preferences you never chose and you cannot alter (without making new decisions that also hinge on those intrinsic traits and preferences). Due to this, every decision you make is ultimately luck-based.

Everything is the result of a series of causes. If you are the product of all (genes influenced by envir', etc) that happened leading up to the moment, what is agency? Are you responsible for your actions if youre just a chain of cause and effect that extends before you're born?

Determinism is a better approach than free will/free choice - of which none (in my worldview) exist. Everything is pre-determined. Wow, sounds depressing one might say. No. Its my worldview and I'm not depressed. Why? Because our thinking (neuropath-wiring) form our well-being.
