I found asking myself how I was feeling always ended up with me hating myself
but most of the time I answer honestly when people ask me how I am, and find that I comfort them, when they don’t like my answer

Only if they ask you honestly. As you’d know “Hey, how are you?” Or “How ya going?” isn’t really a question in our part of the world. It’s just a synonym for “G’day”. Everything turns on the tone of the delivery. :) But honestly, how are you, Emily?

My point exactly. People don't expect an honest answer. I think it's refreshing when you give one :) I'm feeling more like a ball of stress than a human at the moment. The busyness of adulthood has hit me like a tonne of bricks
what about you? - 2 more replies

It depends. I don't _want_ to strengthen relationships with everyone who might ask. (And in the US, that's everyone!)

Or, more to the point: it's often complicated, and there are only so many hours in the day.

Indeed. In 4Game-speak: How are you? = How is your Short Game? How is your Mid Game? How is your Long Game? How is your Deep Game? Sincere check-ins are invaluable.pic.twitter.com/OMFvS7PN7M

1. Aiming for less-snotty nose today. Cherry-acai green smoothie now + mainlining herbal tea. 2. Still homeless. But stable-ish these days. Not too much stress. 3. My discoveries are getting exponential! Thanks to help from brilliant humans. 4. Oh, yeah! I totally got this!
