Morning musings: Motivation is a scarce resource. Why do some harbour more than others? Can motivation be cultivated, or is it innate? Further, can motivation be imposed externally, or does it come from within the individual?

What is the relationship between motivation and productivity? Is there a discernable difference between negative and positive motivation? (i.e. running for your life - immediate threat, or pursuing something positive w/o danger) Keep in mind: answers don't come without questions

desire & fear are more closely related than i first thought (desire = fear of absense? fear = desiring alternate circumstances?).

(In case it's not clear, my use of desire & fear = shorthand for any sort of "towardsness" & "awayness" experiences, whether thoughts or feelings.) Emotion-wise: towardsness includes desire, lust, curiosity, beauty, play,
