Professors aren't *exploring* the material they lecture on. Which is why learning psych from the internet is so much more fun - random internet people are excitedly sharing neat things they learned instead of giving the same lecture for the 20th time.

true! passionate lecturers are hard to come by. and the best ones are those that deviate from course materials. honestly i didnt even watch the lectures last year because the lack of passion was palpable. also 2 hour lectures are way too long for all involved

Facts. Taken many courses surrounding psychology, neuroscience, developmental biology, it's very hard to teach facts in a timely manner while fostering curiosity. Ideally, you'd have a back and forth of "what do you think about X" and then talk about how they figured it out.

Now that I do neuroscience research, my entire day is taken up by being curious, generating a hypothesis, creating an experimental approach, testing hypothesis. The lack of curiosity is what makes life boring.
