Sometimes I wonder how we've survived this long. Is it true that we are a unique and talented species capable of effective cooperation? Or are we just running off emergence and luck? How much control do we really have over our future? And over our longevity?

Humans have rarely been lucky: nature has nearly always conspired against us. We had to create our own luck, which is why we are still here. People control the future: if we want to, we can be the beginning of infinity.

While solutions are found because problems exist, people can tend to be focussed on all the different problemS or focussed on finding *particular* solutions. The former tend to fall into an overwhelming sense of existential crisis & inaction. The latter: optimistic active fun.

True! There's a lot of value in narrowing things down. I think this applies to most areas of life.
