If trying to protect the environment so often leads to criticism of the current economic system then... idk... maybe they're onto something? If anyone has resources on how we can reduce the pillaging of the planet whist still retaining capitalism much as it is, pls send my way https://twitter.com/ne0liberal/status/1095555670227722240 …

Carbon emissions are a cost that is not reflected in the price, therefore hidden from the market. Pricing these external costs (externalities) in allows the market to dynamically respond Without pricing it in, carbon emissions are essentially subsidised by the climate (not good)

Iirc Australia tried to introduce a carbon tax years ago and there was a huge smear campaign funded by a lot of big businesses So it failed and has been a taboo ever since Also would be interesting to see how we could factor in other externalities to

Would be curious for you to elaborate. anarcho-syndicalism perhaps? Markets are really good at this decentralisation problem. I'm not suggesting we ride capital forever, only that what we have works, and nothing else really has. Caution required :)

Giving power to the workers (socialism) would be a better power redistribution & decentralisation, or removing that authority to decentralised community based decision-making could solve the tension also (anarchism)
