It’s not until midlife thay deciding to abruptly change your patterns has a large effect on others. That’s the difference.

From my experience, there is a difference between the ebb and flow of a constant existential dread and the realization that you as a human, approaching the midpoint of an average lifespan, only have a certain amount of time on this planet to accomplish your goals.

I would've said that 10 years ago, but changes in my own life (age 27) already cause me to doubt that.
I think you're describing outliers, not the average midlife crisis. It's more to do with opportunities narrowing and identity solidifying too quickly, *even if anticipated.* -
To give one example, I used to feel like an "old soul." Nowadays I'm surprised/disturbed that undergrads don't see me as someone of their age group. What!? I wasn't expecting to lose all the opportunities of a 21 y.o. so quickly! Extrapolate to age 50: this gap could break me!

I used to take it with my morning coffee then it all changed. Once you've had a few brushes with death you just become grateful for being alive
.
Now I question reality itself and hope I get enough points in this sim to come back in the next one.Kiitos. Käytämme tätä aikajanasi parantamiseen. KumoaKumoa
