I've taught coding as an extra curricular activity for 3 different schools now... Here's some things I've learnt about 8-10 year olds! These kid's brains are super impressionable, and they get distracted very easily. My no.1 struggle is controlling access to games.

When a kid gets on one (even the no-internet dino is enough) every other kid in the class turns to their computer. They might as well be drooling over each other. It's that bad. You can only imagine the effect of apps and games that strategically try to capture attention.

Most I've spoken to are to a large extent banned from playing any games at home. So I guess this is why it becomes a bigger issue at school. Lastly, kids are super interested in computers and coding. A school made an incorrect announcement over the speakers that we were...
