I imagine in the future a really cool hobby would be to scour through the archives of the internet just to find the weirdest shit. Imagine a class project to find a random and largely unknown person from the past and learn as much about them as possible. Open source history!

We do that now
True, but we can't find stuff in the past BC we've only just begun storing data on there. In the future you'll be able to go back decades * there'll be so much more data stored, especially with the internet of things gaining traction
