I imagine in the future a really cool hobby would be to scour through the archives of the internet just to find the weirdest shit. Imagine a class project to find a random and largely unknown person from the past and learn as much about them as possible. Open source history!

Oml I'm in love with this thread. Only prob is the internet is basically 3d atm. We need to somehow make it 4d so that we can scale through time, kinda like that feature where you can see what websites looked years ago Ugh future me would spend hours sifting through to find gems

True, but we can't find stuff in the past BC we've only just begun storing data on there. In the future you'll be able to go back decades * there'll be so much more data stored, especially with the internet of things gaining traction
