I've taught coding as an extra curricular activity for 3 different schools now... Here's some things I've learnt about 8-10 year olds! These kid's brains are super impressionable, and they get distracted very easily. My no.1 struggle is controlling access to games.

Computer science is often neglected or not taught well in schools, I assume because one can learn a lot more as a software engineer than a comp sci teacher. So contracting this out to specialised people is a promising area!

One more thing (if you’ll excuse me reading your timeline
), I used @TeamKano’s computer & pixel kit with a 6 and 7yo and while not an answer to every kid’s distraction, it does wonders with some. Review: https://link.medium.com/sFIGTSJjdU Or in video form: https://youtu.be/6F4pBwfp2QU -
