When a kid gets on one (even the no-internet dino is enough) every other kid in the class turns to their computer. They might as well be drooling over each other. It's that bad. You can only imagine the effect of apps and games that strategically try to capture attention.

doing a trial open to everyone, and about 20 extra random kids showed up expressing interest in coding. Even kids in grade one! There's a huge opportunity for startups in this area to get young kids thinking about how computers work.

Computer science is often neglected or not taught well in schools, I assume because one can learn a lot more as a software engineer than a comp sci teacher. So contracting this out to specialised people is a promising area!
