Hyperconsciousness. So meta ideas? Ugh this article is so fluffy. It explains things by using bigger words that I still dont know the meaning of. Is that what postmodernism is?? While we're at it, what is modernism?

Wait something is clicking here: "while modernist architects were interested in unified meanings, universal truths, technology and structure, postmodernists favoured double coding (irony), vernacular contexts and surfaces"

From what I can get at so far, it's a rejection, disillusionment, or a kind of ironic, satirical wordplay - but for ideas. There is a suggestion that this is directly linked with late capitalism. Another suggests its a kind of schizophrenic culture.

"Postmodernism is difficult to define, because to define it would violate the postmodernist's premise that no definite terms, boundaries, or absolute truths exist." - https://www.allaboutphilosophy.org/postmodernism.htm … So, herein lies the problem. Is postmodernism a denial of truth? Or asserting multiple?

Idk about this site. Seems like its just describing postmodernists as people with typically leftist views on conservation, anti-consumerism, pro human rights etc. I see this word thrown around on twitter so frequently but we don't seem to have a common definition
